LMI has secured a potential five-year, $33.9 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to provide data and analysis services in support of the service branch’s Readiness-Based Sparing and Readiness-Spares Packages. The U.S. Air Force awarded Serco Inc. a $90 million follow-on contract to continue implementing IBM's TRIRIGA software at the maintenance and installation systems division of the U.S. Air Force Program Executive Office for Business Enterprise Systems. The potential five-year contract includes a base performance period of one year and four one-year option periods, the company said Wednesday.

The U.S. Air Force has named the five companies selected to design and build a next-generation fleet of unmanned aerial vehicles meant to fly in coordination with crewed platforms. Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Anduril and General Atomics have been awarded contracts with undisclosed sums to continue rapid development for production for the Air Force's Collaborative Combat Aircraft program.

Lockheed Martin and Boeing have each won $66 million contracts from the U.S. Air Force for the first phase of a program aimed at procuring two satellites to augment the existing narrowband military satellite communications constellation. RTX's Raytheon business, in partnership with the Air Force Research Laboratory and Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace, demonstrated the ability of its new GhostEye MR radar to support air defense operations during an extended exercise at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. The Raytheon-built radar technology was integrated into the command and control element of the National Advanced Surface to Air Missile System, expanding the missile system's capabilities against cruise missile and drone threats, RTX said Wednesday.

The government solutions business of secure collaboration platform developer Mattermost will partner with mobile mesh networking platform maker goTenna under a Phase II U.S. Air Force Small Business Innovation Research contract to enhance the service's tactical ChatOps functions. Mattermost said Tuesday that work under the SBIR award includes the development of a plugin for its platform that would work across Tactical Assault Kit servers, and the creation of transmission layer integrations within TAK with the use of goTenna's mesh radios.

BAE Systems has secured a six-year, $48.8 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to enhance a company-built system used to support real-world operations via analytics, open systems frameworks and enhanced capabilities.
