Mattermost has developed four new chat operations features aimed at enhancing real-time mission intelligence sharing for the U.S. Air Force 618th Air Operations Center. The California-based company said Tuesday the culmination of the 18-month development effort marks the fulfillment of the $750,000 Small Business Innovation Research Phase II contract it previously received through the AFWERX program.

The government solutions business of secure collaboration platform developer Mattermost will partner with mobile mesh networking platform maker goTenna under a Phase II U.S. Air Force Small Business Innovation Research contract to enhance the service's tactical ChatOps functions. Mattermost said Tuesday that work under the SBIR award includes the development of a plugin for its platform that would work across Tactical Assault Kit servers, and the creation of transmission layer integrations within TAK with the use of goTenna's mesh radios.

Secure collaboration platform developer Mattermost has joined the World Economic Forum's global community of growth-stage companies that facilitate innovation in their industries. As a member of the Global Innovation Community, Mattermost will collaborate with the WEF Centre for Cybersecurity to boost resiliency and address cybersecurity challenges across the critical infrastructure sector, the company said Tuesday.
