BAE Systems has concluded the critical design review of an advanced global positioning system receiver and next-generation semiconductor for the U.S. Space Force. The CDR is part of the $247 million contract that BAE received in 2020 from the agency to design and manufacture new technologies in support of the Military GPS User Equipment Increment 2 Miniature Serial Interface program, the company said Wednesday.

Northrop Grumman and the Missile Defense Agency completed a preliminary design review of the Next Generation Interceptor capability one year ahead of schedule. RTX's Collins Aerospace subsidiary and partners ILC Dover and Oceaneering have completed the crew capability assessment test on next-generation spacesuits developed for NASA astronauts on the International Space Station. Lockheed-NVIDIA Earth Digital Twin Achieves Development Milestone, Displays Sea Surface Temperature Data

The Earth and Space Observing Digital Twin, a collaboration between aerospace and defense company Lockheed Martin and multinational technology company NVIDIA, recently achieved a milestone when it demonstrated the ability to accurately display in a timely manner sea surface temperature with the help of artificial intelligence. Lockheed said Tuesday that the aim of the Digital Twin project is to provide the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration with a capability that can process and fuse weather data streams from various space and Earth sensors and display current global environmental conditions using that data.
