BAE Systems' combat mission systems business is set to start building its new site in Maple Grove, Minnesota here, with completion expected in 2025. The 236,000-square-foot facility will showcase advanced technology and infrastructure as well as energy-efficient designs in line with the company's carbon neutrality goal by 2030, BAE Systems said Tuesday.

BAE Systems' ordnance systems business unit has selected the U.S. defense subsidiary of South Korea-based Hanwha Aerospace to upgrade a production building at a government-owned ammunition manufacturing complex in Virginia. Hanwha Defense USA will help the U.S. Army modernize an existing Radford Army Ammunition Plant facility that manufactures propellants for the service branch, BAE said Thursday.

BAE Systems Inc. has partnered with simulation software developer Ansys to streamline the adoption of digital engineering and model-based systems engineering approaches for security and defense applications within the Department of Defense. Ansys said Tuesday it will assist the customers of BAE in phasing out manual processes and implementing simulation methods and data management for DOD programs through the latter's Mission Advantage technology partnership program.

The Space Systems Command has selected BAE Systems for a prototyping effort intended to enhance the U.S. Space Force’s capacity to facilitate the rapid integration of next-generation assets as they come online. As part of the first phase of the Future Operationally Resilient Ground Evolution Command and Control project, BAE said Wednesday it will develop a prototype ground system.
