Allison Transmission has secured a one-year, $83.3 million contract to deliver upgraded and new X1100 transmissions for Abrams main battle tanks. Deliveries will run through December and cover enhancing the armored vehicles used by the U.S. Army and foreign military sales clients in Asia Pacific and Eastern Europe, the company said Thursday.

SAIC has been selected for a $63 million U.S. Navy contract focused on hypersonics and strategic mission support. The Veterans Health Administration has lengthened its contract with AppliedVR, under which the company is providing an at-home chronic lower back pain, or CLBP, treatment program. Issued by the administration’s VA Immersive division, the extended award will support continued access to RelieVRx, AppliedVR’s virtual reality-based immersive therapeutics program, the company announced from Los Angeles, California on Wednesday.

SpaceX and SEOPS will launch small satellite missions under four task orders awarded by NASA under the Venture-Class Acquisition of Dedicated and Rideshare launch services contract. SpaceX received three of the four task orders and will provide launch services for the Total and Spectral Solar Irradiance Sensor-2 satellite as well as the Dione and ARCSTONE satellites under the CubeSat Launch Initiative, the space agency said Wednesday.

Pragyansmita Nayak, chief data scientist at Hitachi Vantara's federal subsidiary, has outlined strategic steps to integrate artificial intelligence tools into government systems to optimize operations, enhance security and achieve mission objectives. Federal agencies must first establish a data management strategy, focusing on data provenance and lineage, to ensure data quality and prevent the infiltration of "poisoned" data that threat actors may exploit to disrupt AI systems, Nayak wrote in an opinion article Federal News Network published Friday.
