SandboxAQ has acquired computational chemistry company Good Chemistry for an undisclosed amount. Good Chemistry’s array of offerings includes artificial intelligence, quantum and additional technologies, which will deepen SandboxAQ’s computational chemistry and simulation portfolio, the Palo Alto, California-based organization announced on Tuesday.
Fairbanks Morse Defense has bought Samtan Engineering, a Malden, Massachusetts-based single-source metalworking supplier, in an effort to add metal-stamped products and machine shop services to FMD's portfolio. "Samtan has a long track record of delivering superior customer service and high-quality products to the U.S. Navy, especially for submarine programs," remarked FMD CEO George Whittier.
Arlington Capital Partners has launched Kinetic Engine Systems as the Washington, D.C.-based private equity firm's new platform company focused on producing precision aerospace and defense engine components. Arlington said Thursday it formed Kinetic Engine Systems by combining the engine assets of its portfolio company Cadence Aerospace with newly acquired companies: Walbar Engine Components, AeroCision and Numet Machining Techniques.

The acquisition is intended to support BlueHalo's current strategic and technological priorities by accelerating rapid prototyping and product delivery and promoting quality within its supply chain.
Gilat Satellite Networks has acquired DataPath, a Duluth, Georgia-based manufacturer of communications platforms for military, government and commercial applications, in a transaction aimed at expanding the former's footprint in the defense communications market. Gilat said Thursday it closed the deal after securing approvals from the companies' boards of directors and the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S.
The April merger between government technology companies Engineering Solutions and Meadowgate Technologies has now yielded the combined brand Vibrint, which has officially launched. Under the leadership of established federal contracting executive Tom Lash as CEO, Vibrint will offer intelligence gathering and analysis services and tools to public sector customers focused on harvesting and organizing data.

Wireless threat monitoring company LOCH Technologies has acquired software company Avirtek. With the transaction complete, LOCH said Monday it would work to enable a data detection and response capability by integrating Avirtek's autonomic cybersecurity technology into its AirShield platform.
