Lockheed Martin will collaborate with Intel and its newly launched standalone business Altera to build a sensor open systems architecture-based airborne electronic defense platform for the U.S. Navy's MH-60R multi-mission helicopter to support a program of the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering. Lockheed said Monday it will use Altera's Multi-Chip Package for integration with the SOSA technology under the Stimulating Transition for Advanced Microelectronics Packaging program.

Rite-Solutions has secured a five-year, $60.7 million prime contract to deliver information technology support services for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center’s Activity Chief Information Officer/IT Division. General Dynamics' electric boat subsidiary has christened PCU Idaho, the U.S. Navy's 26th Virginia-class nuclear-powered fast-attack submarine, which is designed to support anti-submarine and surface ship warfare and special operations. Terry Stackley, the ship sponsor, performed the bottle break that christened the vessel, which is the first Navy submarine to be named after the state of Idaho, General Dynamics Electric Boat said in a LinkedIn post published Sunday.

Incubation firm Red Cell Partners is providing cybersecurity technology developer Eyris $3 million in pre-seed funding meant to allow the company to start a Department of Defense pilot program and offer services to other federal agencies. Eyris offers blockchain-based security and ransomware mitigation products that are cloud- and encryption-agnostic and work to integrate with various existing applications, Red Cell said Wednesday.
