DZYNE Technologies will open a new manufacturing and research and development facility in Irvine, California, to accommodate its growing workforce of engineers, researchers and manufacturing personnel and support its development of uncrewed autonomous systems for defense applications. RavenTek has partnered with cybersecurity services provider NuHarbor Security to develop a unified offering to enable public sector customers to deploy and manage multiple capabilities on Splunk. The offering will combine RavenTek's RavenVISION framework with NuHarbor's cybersecurity and managed security operations center services to provide government organizations access to integrated Splunk security and information technology observability capabilities, RavenTek said Thursday.

HII has christened the U.S. Navy's third America-class amphibious assault ship, named after Bougainville Island in the Solomons in honor of a World War 2 campaign that dismantled the Japanese stronghold. Ellyn Dunford, wife of former Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman and U.S. Marine Corps Commandant Joe Dunford Jr., sponsored the christening of USS Bougainville, the company said Saturday.

SpaceX has entered into a contract to help Amazon deploy Project Kuiper, a low Earth orbit satellite broadband network, by providing launch services using the Falcon 9 vehicle beginning mid-2025. Amazon said Saturday that the contract involves the provision of three Falcon 9 launches to augment a total of 77 heavy-lift rocket launches already secured from Arianespace, Blue Origin and United Launch Alliance.

Pragyansmita Nayak, chief data scientist at Hitachi Vantara's federal subsidiary, has outlined strategic steps to integrate artificial intelligence tools into government systems to optimize operations, enhance security and achieve mission objectives. Federal agencies must first establish a data management strategy, focusing on data provenance and lineage, to ensure data quality and prevent the infiltration of "poisoned" data that threat actors may exploit to disrupt AI systems, Nayak wrote in an opinion article Federal News Network published Friday.
