Four unmanned surface vessels outfitted with Leidos' autonomy technology have reached Sydney Harbor as part of the U.S. Navy's Integrated Battle Problem 23.2 multidomain exercise aimed at incorporating autonomous systems into fleet operations. Gerry Fasano, president of Leidos' defense group and a four-time Wash100 awardee, said in a company statement published Tuesday that the deployment will give "fleet commanders much-needed enhancements to maritime domain awareness, accelerating the speed and lethality of existing maritime kill chains."

Boeing has completed the research, development, test and evaluation phase for the MH-139A Grey Wolf. The aircraft manufacturer said Monday it will now transition to and concentrate on the production of the helicopters, with the delivery of the first low-rate production aircraft to the U.S. Air Force expected in mid-2024.

Intelsat delivered high-speed, uninterrupted satellite communications connectivity with its Multi-Orbit Tactical Terminal during a two-week field test with the U.S. Army. Intelsat said Thursday that the demo was part of the Army’s annual Network Modernization Experiment.

The shipbuilding division of HII has commenced the production of the U.S. Navy's newest Flight III Arleigh Burke-class destroyer, named in honor of former U.S. Senator Thad Cochran. HII said Thursday the initiation of the fabrication of the USS Thad Cochran signals the shipyard's preparedness to progress with construction, with the initial 100 tons of steel already cut.

A flight test of the Patriot Advanced Capability – 3 took place on Nov. 16, demonstrating the missile's ability to defend against an air breathing threat with the help of the Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor radar. Lockheed Martin said Thursday it conducted the test at the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico in partnership with the U.S. Army.
