Finland’s Kuva Space Builds US Presence With New Virginia-Based Business Arm

Finnish hyperspectral imaging company Kuva Space has entered the U.S. government market by establishing a new business arm headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia, to provide Earth observation data and services to federal customers. Jerry Welsh, former CEO of the U.S. arm of satellite technology provider ICEYE, has been appointed to the board of directors of Kuva Space U.S. and will oversee the company's expansion efforts in the U.S. public sector, Kuva Space said Wednesday.

Austal’s U.S. arm has begun designing a new production facility as part of efforts to expand its shipyard capability in Mobile, Alabama. Austal USA said Tuesday that the expansion project includes a new assembly building, a shiplift system and waterfront improvements. Construction is set to begin this summer.

BAE Receives $114M in Foreign Military Sales Contracts for Aircraft Survivability Systems

BAE Systems has secured foreign military sales contracts totaling $114 million from the U.S. Army for the procurement of missile warning, hostile fire indication and countermeasure aircraft systems. The company said Tuesday that U.S. allies will use the AN/AAR-57 Common Missile Warning Systems to safeguard both existing and newly acquired aircraft fleets.

General Dynamics Unit to Continue Delivering Digital Naval Radio Systems Under $83M IDIQ

General Dynamics' mission systems business has booked a five-year, $82.8 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract from the U.S. Navy for the continued procurement, manufacturing, testing and delivery of AN/USC-61(C) Digital Modular Radio systems.
