DOD Expands Phase 2 Contract With nLIGHT for High Energy Laser Prototype Development

nLIGHT will continue developing a high energy laser prototype under the second phase of the HEL Scaling Initiative of the Department of Defense's Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Research & Engineering. The phase two award now has a total value of $171 million after the DOD exercised additional options.

Small Business Firm PAI Wins $74M Navy Contract for Worldwide Logistics Services

Professional Analysis Inc., an Alexandria, Virginia-based federal services contractor, has won a $74.4 million contract from the U.S. Navy to deliver worldwide logistics services covering eight functional areas. The Military Sealift Command conducted an online procurement process for the award and received two bids, the Department of Defense said Friday.

Abt-Led Team Receives CDC Global Health Emergency Response Support Contract

An industry team led by Abt Associates has secured a contract from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to help government agencies prepare and respond to a public health emergency. The company said Thursday it will partner with HealthVerity to provide disease surveillance data to be used to plan targeted interventions and countermeasures during public health emergencies.

Applied Technology Wins $91M Navy IDIQ for Tactical Electronic Warfare R&D

Small business company Applied Technology has won a one-year, $90.5 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract from the U.S. Navy to conduct tactical electronic warfare research and development. The Naval Research Laboratory conducted an online procurement process for the award and received one bid, the Department of Defense said Thursday.

Peraton Labs to Develop Dynamic 5G Spectrum Management Tool Under NSTXL Deal

Peraton's applied research arm will develop and demonstrate a new piece of technology designed to enable 5G dynamic spectrum sharing at the tactical edge to support military operations. The Flexible Spectrum Harvesting and Adaptive Reuse Enhancement tool will demonstrate bidirectional spectrum sharing between 5G radio access networks and military radars in the 3.1 to 3.55 GHz band, Peraton said Thursday.

ICF Books 2 NIH Contracts to Enhance Public Health Data Availability

Reston, Virginia-based ICF has received an 18-month, $27 million recompete contract from the National Institutes of Health to modernize and continue operating ClinicalTrials.gov, an online clinical trials database maintained by the National Library of Medicine. The technology services provider said Wednesday it also secured a potential three-year, multiple-award blanket purchase agreement from NIH to organize and improve access to NLM’s biomedical and public health data.

Army Selects Leonardo DRS, Elbit Systems of America for JETS II Targeting Tech Prototype Contracts

Leonardo DRS and Elbit Systems of America will develop prototypes of a multisensor laser targeting system for forward observers under separate contracts with the U.S. Army.
