Domain-specific generative artificial intelligence can benefit the healthcare sector, where it can function as an assistant to practitioners, facilitating better patient care by providing relevant medical information, according to Srini Iyer, vice president and chief technology officer of the health group at Leidos. Iyer said in an interview with Healthcare IT News that, unlike generic AI models, healthcare-specific AI models can provide more accurate and relevant answers to medical queries because they are trained on medical data.
