Canadian telecommunications company Octasic has established a U.S. subsidiary and set up a new facility in Florida. Octasic US will take on the responsibility of handling upcoming 5G wireless projects that support the defense and intelligence sectors in the country, the company said Monday.

A General Dynamics subsidiary has received a $218 million initial task order from the U.S. Army for expanded production of 155mm M1128 load, assemble and pack requirements. The initial task order was awarded to General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems under a $974.4 million multi-award contract for the M1128 artillery.

HII's Newport News Shipbuilding division collaborated with General Dynamics Electric Boat and advanced marine components manufacturer Ammcon to employ 3D printing in the production of parts for nuclear-powered submarines. GDEB and Ammcon helped NNS create a copper-nickel deck drain assembly that was later installed on the Virginia-class submarine Oklahoma.
