The all-stock merger between L3 Technologies and Harris Corp. has been completed to form L3Harris Technologies (LHX), the new company announced on Monday. L3Harris is officially the sixth largest defense company in the United States worth approximately $17 billion in revenue with over 50,000 employees. The company also announced the details regarding its own leadership, the board of directors and organizational structure.

Aerospace and defense company Mercury Systems has received a $31 million contract from L3Harris Technologies to support the Space Development Agency's Tranche 2 Tracking Layer. Mercury said Wednesday that under the contract, it will provide solid-state data recorders for the T2TL satellites that L3Harris had been tasked to develop for the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture.

Iridium Communications has secured a five-year contract from L3Harris Technologies to deliver timing sync services to U.S. data centers, crucial for safeguarding the Federal Aviation Administration’s infrastructure. Under the contract, Iridium will supply its satellite time and location service to over 36 L3Harris-operated communications network backbone nodes and a similar number of FAA facilities.

Very Low Earth Orbit satellite builder Albedo has expanded its strategic advisory board, which was formed in May 2023. Rick Ambrose, former executive vice president of the space business at Lockheed Martin, and retired U.S. Army Lt. Gen. Pat O'Reilly, vice president of corporate strategy at L3Harris Technologies, are the new members of the advisory board, Albedo said Monday.
