RTX business Raytheon held a groundbreaking ceremony to begin the expansion of its missile integration facility in Huntsville, Alabama. The $115 million expansion of the Redstone Raytheon Missile Integration Facility is expected to be completed in 2025 and generate approximately 185 jobs in the area, bringing the company's workforce in Alabama to more than 2,200 employees, RTX said Tuesday.

An RTX business has secured a $212.5 million contract modification from the U.S. Navy to help develop, modernize and maintain mission systems and mission system equipment of Zumwalt-class guided missile destroyers. Raytheon will perform combat system engineering and provide miscellaneous items for the Navy ships over a one-year contract option period, the Department of Defense said Monday.

An RTX business has completed another live-fire demonstration of Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor, the advanced, 360-degree air and missile defense radar it is developing for the U.S. Army. The defense contractor said Thursday Raytheon conducted a series of exercises showcasing LTAMDS' integration with the Integrated Battle Command System, the radar's tracking of a cruise missile surrogate and its relay of target track information to IBCS to guide a missile to intercept the target.

L3Harris Technologies subsidiary Aerojet Rocketdyne has secured a contract to manufacture launch and flight motors for FIM-92 Stinger missiles to help RTX business Raytheon replenish the U.S. Army’s inventory of the anti-aircraft missiles. The replenishment contract awarded to Aerojet marks the first time in nearly two decades the company will manufacture new missiles for the U.S. military, L3Harris said Thursday.

RTX's subsidiary, Raytheon, has secured a $47.9 million firm-fixed-price job order from the U.S. Navy to provide company-built infrared sensors along with spare parts for the Naval Air System Command’s Program Office for Multi-Mission Tactical Unmanned Aerial Systems. Under the contract, the Department of Defense said Friday the contractor will produce and deliver nine AB/DAS-4 Multi-spectral Targeting Systems.

A three-week field test of the Counter-Electronic High-Power Microwave Extended-Range Air Base Defense system, or CHIMERA, recently took place at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. RTX business Raytheon said Monday that it had conducted the test in collaboration with the Air Force Research Laboratory, with whom the company is working alongside Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division and the Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering to develop CHIMERA under the Directed Energy Front-line Electromagnetic Neutralization and Defeat program.
