R2S, a joint venture between Rafael Advanced Defense System and Raytheon, an RTX business, has begun the construction of a new manufacturing facility in East Camden, Arkansas, to house the production of air defense missiles for the U.S. Marine Corps. The companies will invest $63 million in the development of the new facility, which will build the domestic production line for the Tamir missile for the Iron Dome Weapon System and its SkyHunter missile weapon variants, the office of Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders said.

Parsons has received a three-year, $21 million task order from the National Nuclear Security Administration through a previously awarded blanket purchase agreement to provide design and construction management support for the New Mexico-based Los Alamos National Laboratory. Aerojet Rocketdyne, an L3Harris Technologies subsidiary, has opened a new laboratory at its Camden, Arkansas, site to expand its solid rocket motor materials chemical testing capabilities supporting defense programs. The Camden laboratory provides 5,200 square feet of space to enable the company to move pressurized gas cylinders manually, install additional tensile testing stations and add an upgraded ventilation system for better airflow, L3Harris said Monday.

A joint venture between RTX's Raytheon business and Israel-based Rafael Advanced Defense Systems will make a $33 million investment to establish a facility in East Camden, Arkansas, to manufacture the Tamir missile for the Iron Dome weapon system and the U.S. version of the missile, dubbed SkyHunter. The Raytheon-Rafael Area Protection Systems JV will break ground on the manufacturing facility before the end of 2023 and plans to kick off missile production in 2025, RTX said Thursday.

The National Security Agency has granted certification to General Dynamics' mission systems division for its first TACLANE E-Series product designed to protect top-secret government information that passes through ethernet data networks. The TACLANE-ES10 (KG-185A) encryptor is a Layer 2 Ethernet Data Encryption Cryptographic Interoperability Specification-compliant platform that works to secure classified information in high-speed networks at data rates up to 10 Gigabits per second, GDMS said Thursday.
