The U.S. Navy has fielded the RTX-built StormBreaker precision-guided glide bomb on the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, providing the multirole fighter aircraft with strike capability against moving targets. RTX said Monday the F/A-18 is the first approved Navy aircraft to carry the air-to-surface weapon system to engage fixed or moving land and maritime targets in all weather conditions.

A joint venture between RTX's Raytheon business and Israel-based Rafael Advanced Defense Systems will make a $33 million investment to establish a facility in East Camden, Arkansas, to manufacture the Tamir missile for the Iron Dome weapon system and the U.S. version of the missile, dubbed SkyHunter. The Raytheon-Rafael Area Protection Systems JV will break ground on the manufacturing facility before the end of 2023 and plans to kick off missile production in 2025, RTX said Thursday.

The U.S. Army has completed contractor verification testing of its RTX-made next-generation air and missile defense radar at the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico to validate the technology's ability to defeat real and simulated threats. During the test, the Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor was connected to the Army's Integrated Air and Missile Defense Battle Command System and completed 11 mission sets in simulated environments, RTX said Thursday.
