Techstars and Starburst have launched a new accelerator program that seeks to help startups developing space-based technologies and other related platforms. Matt Kozlov, former head of the Cedars Sinai Accelerator, will serve as managing director of the Los Angeles-based Techstars Starburst Space Accelerator program, Techstars said Tuesday.

Tony Moraco, CEO of Science Applications International Corp., told The Washington Post in an interview published Sunday the added scale brought by the $2.5B acquisition of Engility allows SAIC to go after larger business opportunities and new markets in the federal government. “This allows us within this market to pursue and deliver on larger-scale contracts, predominantly in the space and intelligence markets, as well as mission assurance and spaceflight,” he said of the transaction.
