Darius Adamczyk, president and CEO of Honeywell, will succeed the retiring Dave Cote as chairman by the end of April.
“The board concluded that Darius will provide decisive strategic leadership and strong execution of Honeywell’s significant portfolio change and deployment of our core technological strengths related to software, data analytics and the industrial internet of things,†Jaime Chico Pardo, lead director at Honeywell, said in a statement published Wednesday.
Adamczyk assumed the president and CEO roles in March 2017 after he served as chief operating officer.
He previously served as president and CEO of Honeywell’s performance materials and technologies business and president of the company’s process solutions business.
He also led Honeywell’s scanning and mobility business after the industrial conglomerate acquired Metrologic in 2008.
Prior to Honeywell, Adamczyk previously worked at Booz Allen Hamilton, Ingersoll Rand and General Electric.
Duncan Angove, president of products and support at Infor, has been named to Honeywell’s board as an independent director.
Angove, who is up for re-election at Honeywell’s annual shareholders meeting on April 23, previously held senior management positions at Oracle and Retek.
He is a former board member at 8thBridge and began his career at Andersen Consulting.
