President Barack Obama has appointed Christine Fox, assistant director for policy and analysis at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, to the U.S. Naval Academy’s board of visitors.
APL said Monday Fox will work with 15 other board members to evaluate matters that concern the academy, including its state of morale and discipline, curriculum, instruction, physical equipment, fiscal affairs and academic methods.
She is a former acting deputy defense secretary and has also led the Pentagon’s Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation office, where she oversaw several agency-wide reviews on CAPE’s operations, technology and budget.
The board submits a written report on its findings to the president each year.
