Deltek CEO Mike Corkery emphasized the firm’s global expansion plans in the company’s announcement today that Patrick Smith has elevated to senior vice president of Deltek’s global marketing team.

Corkery said that the company will look to Smith’s experience prior to joining the firm and as its most recent vice president of marketing and communications as it “accelerate(s) (its) growth plans around the world” and continues to “launch innovative new products.”

The chief executive added that “I am excited to have (Smith) be part of the senior leadership team as we… continue our worldwide expansion plans.”

Smith joined Deltek in 2007 to lead its strategic communications in the lead up to Deltek going public for the second time.

The former product marketing lead at Manugistics, and a USA Bank and Intel Corp. veteran, Smith will now manage Deltek’s global events marketing; lead generation programs; and brand awareness and identity, among other areas.

Smith will report directly to Corkery and also be responsible for public and analyst relations; marketing communications; sales enablement activities; and partner marketing.
