Cubic logoCubic Applications, part of Cubic‘s mission support services business, has won a potential five-year, $15.3 million contract to support the U.S. Africa Command‘s joint training and exercises by providing subject matter experts in the field.

Beginning in July, the company’s strategic solutions group will support AFRICOM J7 Joint Training and Exercise Division activities in Stuttgart, Germany as well as other locations in Europe and Africa, Cubic said Monday.

“We look forward to assisting AFRICOM and the Department of Defense in continuing to enhance their engagement in this increasingly strategic area of the world,” said Al Sargeant, senior vice president and general manager of Cubic SSG.

According to the company, Cubic SSG has been providing exercise planning, operations analysis and other support services to AFRICOM since the command was established in 2007.

AFRICOM is a Defense Department geographic combatant command that works with the African Union, African regional security organizations and the Secretary of Defense on military relations with African nations.
