Enlighten IT Consulting has secured a $40 million task order from the U.S. federal government for continued work on a cloud-based architecture that offers storage and retrieval capacity at a rate of more than one trillion records per second.
The company said Tuesday the Big Data Platform is designed to ingest and store data from various Defense Department sensors that will be used to provide analytics for DoD’s information networks.
EITC aims to build on current methods to infuse emerging commercial and open source technologies into platform and the company will oversee the delivery of analytics from the Defense Information Systems Agency partners to the DoD community under the contract.
Duane Shugars, BDP and governance project manager at EITC, said the company will implement agile development practices to help update the platform and address challenges faced by network defenders and warfighters that use critical information technology systems.
The task order was awarded through a General Services Administration schedule.
