Cambridge International SystemsCambridge International Systems has received a delivery order from the U.S. Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command to provide a maritime surveillance system to the Bahamas’ navy.

The company said Wednesday it will build a multi-sensor station comprising a radar, day and night optics, Global Maritime Distress and Safety System components, a very small aperture terminal and an automatic identification technology in Great Inagua.

Russell Thurston, vice president of defense and intelligence solutions at Cambridge International Systems, said the company aims to continue its maritime domain awareness support to SPAWAR and help update Bahamas’ maritime surveillance and command-and-control infrastructure.

SPAWAR awarded the order to Cambridge under the multiple-award $232 million Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence Integrated International Solutions contract the military organization unveiled in July 2015.

The company said it has provided 25 fixed and mobile MSS platforms as well as built eight regional command centers in Bahrain, Colombia, Iraq and the Philippines.
