Mitre Seeks to Drive Critical Infrastructure Security Through New Foundation; Jason Providakes Quoted - top government contractors - best government contracting event

Mitre has established an organization that seeks to promote cybersecurity research and development efforts as well as encourage collaboration between commercial, academic and government entities to protect critical infrastructure.

Engenuity will work to expand Mitre's Adversarial Tactics Techniques and Common Knowledge database to cover encryption capabilities and 5G networks, the company said Tuesday.

Mike Rogers, a former Congressman and current vice chairman of Mitre’s board of trustees, will lead Engenuity’s board of directors.

The tech foundation will also support efforts to leverage data analytics for applications such as healthcare, transportation and other critical infrastructure.

Engenuity will bring together companies such as AttackIQ, Booz Allen Hamilton, Fujitsu, JPMorgan Chase and Microsoft in efforts to improve knowledge of cyber adversaries via the Center for Threat-Informed Defense program.

Jason Providakes, president and CEO of Mitre and a 2019 Wash100 winner, said the establishment of the  foundation builds on the firm's experience operating federal R&D centers to support the development of cybersecurity standards and improvement of aviation and healthcare operations.
