William Solms, former vice president and general manager of the federal business at Qualys, has joined QOMPLX's government solutions division as president and general manager.

He brings more than three decades of experience to his new role and will lead the unit's efforts to help mission-focused organizations pursue technological transformation initiatives, QOMPLX said Tuesday.

"Government organizations are beginning to recognize that advanced data analytic solutions can now address some issues that have been considered too complicated in the past to even try to solve," Solms said.

"I'm thrilled to be leading this charge as QOMPLX expands into the government sector with its cybersecurity and broader analytics platform."

Solms previously led cybersecurity company Wave Systems as president and CEO. He also co-founded WildRock Security Group and held various leadership roles at IntelliDyne, Microsoft and Oracle.

He served in the U.S. military as a paratrooper and a pilot on the Apache helicopter. His military career culminated with the position of strategic planner at the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
