Microsoft has rolled out a service meant to help organizations comply with moderate-level security controls under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program.
Lily Kim, general manager for global Azure operations at Microsoft, wrote in a blog post published Tuesday the new set of Azure Blueprints will aid providers in developing cloud environments that adhere to external standards along with FedRAMP's moderate baseline.
The free service includes Azure cloud resources that cover areas like access control, audit and accountability, configuration management, contingency planning, identification and authentication, systems and communications protection, risk assessment and system and information integrity.
Kim added that Microsoft plans to launch control mappings for FedRAMP high-impact compliance. The company also has Azure Blueprints focused on National Institute of Standards and Technology requirements.
Microsoft holds FedRAMP high-impact certification for its Azure and Azure Government offerings.
