BAE Systems has won a potential $48.4M contract from the U.S. Navy to modernize, repair and maintain the San Antonio-class USS Anchorage amphibious transport dock.
The company will provide human resources and facilities necessary to carry out fiscal 2019 selected restricted availability of the vessel, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
Naval Sea Systems Command received two bids for the firm-fixed-price contract through a full and open competition that was conducted on a West Coast-wide basis.
The Pentagon expects BAE's ship repair business in San Diego to finish work in July 2020.
The unit will also help the Navy execute post-shakedown availability of the Arleigh Burke-class USS Thomas Hudner destroyer under a separate $55.4M contract awarded last month.
