AM General will produce 739 units of a cargo and warfighter carrier vehicle to the U.S. Army National Guard under an $89M delivery order.

The company said Thursday it will begin to deliver M1152A1 single cab, open cargo Humvees in the third quarter.

M1152A1 is equipped with an integrated armor protection system and designed to transport military personnel or cargo. The variant will include updated suspension, cooling, powertrain and electrical systems.

The Army awarded AM General a $121M contract in October to provide engineering, logistics and systems support for 740 Humvees.
