AM General Displays Next Generation Light Tactical Vehicle, Howitzer Kit at Eurosatory - top government contractors - best government contracting eventAM General will introduce its next-generation light tactical vehicle, along with a new weapon system, at the 2018 Eurosatory Defense and Security International Exhibition running Monday through Thursday in Paris, France.

On Monday, the South Bend, Ind., company announced it will display its NXT 360 vehicle and Hawkeye 105 millimeter Howitzer Kit, both derived from the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle platform.

Designed according to customer feedback, the light tactical vehicle includes: kinetic energy and blast threat protection; transparent armor; an anti-lock break system; electronic stability control; and a central tire inflation system for soft and paved road transition.

The NXT 360 features 15,500 pounds of gross vehicle weight and a 250-horsepower V8 engine with P400 electronic control and 6.5 litter fuel capacity. The vehicle can be integrated as an upgrade kit or delivered as a new ground platform.

The Howitzer kit for the HMMWV platform is built to shoot 24 rounds within three minutes and three rounds per minute for sustained fire, using a 360-degree M20 cannon.
