The U.S. Navy has announced plans to negotiate and award a contract modification to Boeing for service life support for the service branch’s F/A-18E/F Super Hornet aircraft.

g would support up to 15 F/A-18E/Fs for fiscal 2019 and up to 30 aircraft units for fiscal 2020 through the proposed modification under an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, the Navy said in a FedBizOpps notice published Tuesday.
Scope of work covers aircraft inspections and physical verification of fleet use, warranty and non-warranty modifications and related repairs, recurring and non-recurring engineering, project management and logistical services.
The company would also provide parts, kits, associated materials and data, according to the notice
Boeing received a $49.7 million IDIQ in April of last year to help the service branch extend the life of its Super Hornet fleet beyond 6,000 flight hours.
The Navy expects a response from the company by April 11.
