Ronald Spoehel, a former chief financial officer at NASA, has been elected as chairman of the board of directors of hydraulic fracturing technology manufacturer RocketFrac Services.
RocketFrac said Tuesday Spoehel brings more than 35 years of executive and general management experience in the energy and technology sectors to his new role.
He served as founder and managing partner of Windrock Capital prior to his career at NASA and is a board member at Millenial Esports, Profire Energy and STG Group.
Annelise Freeman, RocketFrac CEO, said that Spoehel has shown interest in the company’s technology development efforts and the technological opportunities the company can offer as an alternative to hydraulic fracturing.
Spoehel previously held leadership and/or board positions at ICF‘s Kaiser Engineers subsidiary, Harris, ManTech International, Acer Group, ICx Technologies and Optinel Systems.
He also worked for investment banking firms Bank of America and Shearson Lehman, as well as managed programs at Hughes Aircraft.
