Alan Haggerty, a retired U.S. Navy captain and former deputy undersecretary of defense for international technology security, has joined The Beacon Group as senior adviser at the company’s aerospace and defense and government practice.
Beacon said Wednesday that Haggerty has leadership experience in the naval technology development, system acquisition and innovation areas.
“His knowledge in defense technology, policy, and all things naval complemented by his industry experience fits perfectly with the team and adds deeper insight into our navy related knowledge base,” said Matt Kegan, a senior vice president and ADG practice leader at Beacon.
At DoD, he counseled the defense undersecretary for acquisition, technology and logistics and the director of defense research and engineering on matters related to export control policy, international science and technology cooperation, technology and space systems security, industrial base protection and counterintelligence.
Haggerty held a director role at Lockheed Martin from 2009 to 2014 and currently serves as a consultant at Defense Innovation Unit Experimental.
