General Dynamics and Rockwell Collins have delivered more than 1,200 radios to the U.S. Army for soldiers to share information with their commanders.
The AN/PRC-155 radio system is designed to help troops connect with command centers via the Warfighter Information Network – Tactical Increment 2 platform, General Dynamics said Monday.
This new batch of radios is part of a follow-on low-rate initial production contract for 1,500 new radios and the remaining units are scheduled for shipment in the first quarter of 2015.
Soldiers will also receive reconnaissance information and other data to adjust mission plans from the operations area with the the PRC-155 radios, General Dynamics says.
