The U.S. Marshals Service will deploy iPhones for employee use during fiscal 2015 as part of the agency’s mobility initiative, Nextgov reported Wednesday.
Aliya Sternstein writes USMS plans to update its current mobility program and is looking into the possibility of accessing agency network through personal devices.
The agency also issued a request for information on mobile applications as well as device support offerings from industry.
“As end-users increase their dependence on mobile devices, USMS requires comprehensive strategies, plans and policies to establish a reliable, secure and mission-enabling mobility posture,” USMS said, according to Nextgov.
Sternstein reports the organization could issue a five-year contract in May for mobility program support, app vetting and design and mobile device management services.
