Riverside Research landed a prime contract to build the prototype for the Space System Command's Data Exploitation and Enhanced Processing for Space Domain Awareness program. The nonprofit organization will be supported by CMSOC Corp., space-to-cloud data analytics firm Spire Global and system developer SciTec, according to DEEP-SDA's managing entity, the National Technology Security Accelerator.
MoreAudrey Allison, vice president for global spectrum management at Boeing, has been appointed to chair the Satellite Industry Association's board of directors. Ross Vincenti, associate general counsel at Intelsat, will support Allison as SIA's vice chair while Spire Global General Counsel Ananda Martin will manage the trade association's financial assets as treasurer, SIA said Tuesday.
MoreNASA has awarded 15 companies spots on a five-year, $45 million firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract in support of the Flight Opportunities and Small Spacecraft Technology programs. Winning contractors will be tasked to provide flight services and carry out the integration of payloads like science instruments and technology demonstrations onto a variety of platforms, including suborbital rockets, balloons and satellites, NASA said Monday.

The vendors were chosen based on the technical acceptability of their proposals and the reasonableness of their proposed contract prices relative to their commercial pricing, Kevin Murphy, the chief science data officer at NASA's Science Mission Directorate, said in a statement issued Sept. 18.
