Oracle and SRA International have collaborated to help the U.S. Coast Guard implement a single enterprise-wide infrastructure for managing human resource and payroll functions.
The Direct Access system is built to run Oracle’s PeopleSoft Global Payroll software and consolidates multiple applications used by the Coast Guard, the Public Health Service and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, SRA said Wednesday.
Mark Johnson, senior vice president of Oracle’s public sector business and an inductee into Executive Mosaic‘s Wash100 for 2015, said the company designed its platform “to improve efficiency, control worldwide payroll options and establish best practices across the enterprise.”
George Batsakis, executive vice president of SRA’s national security group, said the company has supported USCG missions over the past decade and has applied the firm’s enterprise resource planning technology experience to the project.
The military branch’s Direct Access system works to manage information about nearly 100,000 active duty and reserve members, according to SRA.
