Accenture and Microsoft have teamed to co-fund and co-engineer hybrid cloud functions with the Accenture Hybrid Cloud Solution for Microsoft Azure platform with support from their joint venture Avanade.
“With new demands being placed on IT departments every day, enterprises need to smartly connect their infrastructure, software applications, data and operations capabilities in order to become agile, intelligent, digital businesses,” Pierre Nanterme, Accenture CEO, said Monday.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella noted the partnership aims to help companies adapt to a “mobile-first, cloud-first world” and bolster cloud adoption across the enterprise.
Microsoft said the joint hybrid cloud offering works to support application management between public and private clouds with the functions of Microsoft and Accenture cloud platforms, the latter’s business transformation services and Avanade’s team of professionals trained on Microsoft technologies.
Avanade was established in 2000 as an Accenture-Microsoft joint venture and has at least 22,000 employees.
