Unisys has won a contract to deploy a cloud computing platform meant to help U.K. police forces manage public safety incidents and collaborate on intelligence activities.
The company said Wednesday it will provide the U.K.’s Police Service with a cloud-based version of the firm’s Home Office Large Major Enquiry System for managing criminal investigations.
HOLMES is designed with data analytics, tasking, files management, alerting, communications and reporting tools, according to Unisys.
Nick Fraser, managing director of Unisys’ U.K. business, said the company has supported policing and crime management operations in the country through technology.
More than 40 police units across the nation will be able to access HOLMES through a Unisys-hosted cloud browser application, the company says.
The platform is based on Unisys’ Law Enforcement Applications Framework.
