Northrop Grumman will build attitude and heading reference systems for Airbus helicopter platforms.
Northrop Grumman LITEF, a Northrop subsidiary in Germany, will work to certify and deliver its new LCR-350 reference tool to Airbus Helicopters, Northrop said Oct. 21.
The company will begin the production phase in 2016.
According to Eckehardt Keip, managing director of Northrop Grumman LITEF, the LCR-350 solution can operate in the harshest of environments that helicopters are subjected to.
LCR-350 AHRS features a microelectromechanical system inertial measurement unit and directional gyro mode.
Northrop designed the system to display flight control data of an aircraft’s heading and attitude.
