General Dynamics and Rockwell Collins have handed radio systems over to the U.S. Army for the service’s ground forces.
The Army placed the order for 1,500 additional PRC-155 Manpack radios in January and the last batch of those radios are scheduled for delivery in November, General Dynamics said Monday.
“We will continue to produce the PRC-155 Manpack radios, which provide soldiers with the most advanced and cyber-secure communications capability proven effective by soldiers and commanders in Afghanistan, as directed by the Army,†said Chris Marzilli, president of General Dynamics C4 Systems.
The new delivery brings the number of the Army’s Manpack radios to more than 5,300.
