SAIC has secured a five-year, $54.9 million contract from the U.S. Air Force for services supporting the Tranche Three program integration initiative of the Space Development Agency.
Contract Scope
The Department of Defense said Tuesday the Reston, Virginia-based technology company will provide system engineering and integration support to facilitate the deployment of Tranche 3 space vehicles that will be utilized for transport, tracking and custody layers. The cost-plus-award-fee contract also covers services necessary for the integration of the space vehicles within the proliferated warfighter space architecture, or PWSA, ground segment.
Contract work will be conducted in Washington, D.C., and is expected to be completed by April 30, 2030.
The SDA, which serves as the contracting activity, received five bids via online solicitation. It will allocate an initial amount of $6 million from fiscal year 2025 research, development, test and evaluation funds at the time of award.
In December 2024, the SDA issued a request for proposal for systems engineering and integration support for the PWSA’s Tranche 3 program. The agency sought modern space vehicles and ground segment components needed for their integration into the PWSA. The goal of the project is to enhance the joint warfighter’s capabilities with space-based innovations.
