SandboxAQ is developing a large quantitative model, or LQM, platform using NVIDIA’s DGX Cloud AI platform on Google Cloud through a collaboration meant to advance artificial intelligence-based scientific discoveries.
SandboxAQ said Tuesday its collaboration with NVIDIA seeks to speed up discovery timelines from months to weeks by enabling faster validation of promising candidates and accelerate breakthrough innovations in various fields, including biopharma, advanced materials, chemicals, cybersecurity, financial services and medical imaging.
“Our expanded work with NVIDIA accelerates our customers’ ability to innovate and lead in their fields,” said SandboxAQ CEO Jack Hidary. “By developing our platform on NVIDIA DGX Cloud and continuing our research collaboration, SandboxAQ will deliver a level of performance and insight that gives our customers a clear edge in accelerating innovation.”
Agentic AI Chemist
SandboxAQ also unveiled its Agentic AI Chemist, which is designed to transform research and development processes by combining and orchestrating the company’s LQM platforms.
AI Chemist can autonomously investigate millions of potential chemical pathways using multiple SandboxAQ LQMs. With the platform, researchers can discover novel molecules and optimize compounds for clinical applications.
Joint Technical Research
SandboxAQ and NVIDIA also published a joint research paper titled Orbital Optimization of Large Active Spaces via AI-Accelerators.
Under this study, researchers were able to perform orbital optimization on a platform with 82 electrons in 82 orbitals.
SandboxAQ said the research marks another breakthrough in graphic processing unit-accelerated quantum chemistry calculations, which could lead to improved capabilities for molecular simulations.
Series E Financing Round
The latest developments came just weeks after SandboxAQ announced that it raised over $450 million in a Series E funding round.
The company will use the capital to accelerate innovation in quantitative AI and expand its reach across critical industries.
