The U.S. Space Force’s Space and Missile Systems Center has decided to withdraw its plans to award firm-fixed-price contracts for rideshare launch services under the Defense Production Act Title III program after reviewing responses to its notice of contract award.
A notice posted Wednesday says SMC will reassess its strategy on how to move with the procurement effort.
The service announced in mid-June its intent to award sole-source contracts to six small businesses to each perform two commercial rideshare launch missions with government payloads over a two-year performance period.
