A Raytheon vice president has urged defense companies and agencies to modify their approaches to recruit, identify and retain employees who possess science, technology, engineering and math skills, Signal Magazine reported Wednesday.
“For years, we’ve heard about the challenge that we don’t have enough college students that are going to study … STEM,†said Barbara Borgonovi, VP of integrated communication systems at Raytheon’s space and airborne systems business.
“And that’s absolutely true.”
Borgonovi noted she believes technology can help the U.S. sustain an advantage and that companies that offer network security services are part of national defense efforts.
