The Defense Logistics Agency has posted a request for information on commercial hosting platforms that can support an enterprise resource planning program designed to facilitate financial management functions across the Defense Department.
DLA said Friday in a FedBizOpps notice that it will consider cloud-based hosting solutions that could aid the migration of the Defense Agencies Initiative ERP system out of the Defense Information Systems Agency‘s data centers.
The DAI system is based on Oracle‘s Federal Financials application and is intended to support the budget, finance and accounting operations of defense agencies.
The DAI program management office is currently deploying the financial management platform across DoD agencies and is working to update the system continuously.
The PMO seeks alternative hosting systems that can help optimize DAI’s service level response, system performance and hosting costs.
The program will evaluate cloud offerings such as infrastructure-as-a-service, platform-as-a-service and software-as-a-service products.
DLA will also consider various deployment models such as public, private, community or hybrid clouds.
Responses to the RFI are due May 15.
