A team of Eco Waste Solutions, EthosGen and Rockwell Collins has received the green light from the Defense Department to develop a waste-to-energy conversion system for the U.S. military.
EWS said Friday the team will proceed with the Deployable Waste-to-Energy Convertor for Expeditionary Bases with Thermal Energy to Electrical Power System development effort under DoD’s Environmental Security Technology Certification Program.
“Military installations often use open burn pits, which pose significant risks to the health of military troops, local populace, and the environment,” said Jean Lucas, EWS president.
Lucas added that EWS aims to help the U.S. military address such risks through the company’s containerized waste systems.
Rockwell Collins will design and supply hardware for TEEPS, while Ethosgen will manage the project and engineer the integrated system.
ESTCPÂ is aimed at identifying and testing mobile tools and methods that can help address DoD’s environmental and operational energy goals.
