Elbit Systems has showcased a company-built unmanned surface vessel during a maritime exercise jointly conducted by British and Israeli navies in Haifa Bay, Israel.
The Seagull USV scanned and mapped a path for U.K.’s HMS Ocean helicopter carrier as part of a mine countermeasure mission that took place at the joint naval exercise, Elbit Systems said Thursday.
Seagull also worked to alert the carrier of any upcoming mine-like-objects and completed the MCM misison while being controlled by an operator through an onshore station.
The vessel’s mission payload is designed with a modular architecture that allows the craft to perform different missions such as anti-submarine warfare, electronic warfare, maritime security and hydrography operations.
