Lockheed Martin has delivered full mission simulators to air forces of international F-35 operators including Israel, Italy, Japan and Norway to support pilot training at operating bases across the four countries.
The company said Monday the F-35 FMS units will aid pilot qualification, continuation and mission rehearsal training activities and help cater to the rising in-country pilot and maintenance training efforts.
The ally countries are also slated to each receive an Aircraft Systems Maintenance Trainer along with courseware and curriculum materials.
Lockheed added pilot and maintenance trainers will be sent to additional international F-35 clients starting 2018 in preparation for the full-rate production of the fighter aircraft.
“Lockheed Martin fully supports these customers and their F-35 training goals … we look forward to our continued partnerships with these important allies as they build their respective training programs,” said Colleen Arthur, vice president of F-35 training at Lockheed Martin.
Lockheed offers in-country operations and maintenance support for the simulators such as training and scenario creation assistance needed to help users achieve tactical training objectives.
The company’s Global Mobile Training Team also helped prepare international pilots and maintenance teams for the establishment and sustainment of F-35 training centers and operational units.
