Lockheed Martin has selected Falcon Hill National Aerospace Research Park at Hill Air Force Base in Utah as the location of the company’s program management office for the U.S. Air Force‘s Intercontinental Ballistic Missile replacement effort.
Lockheed said Thursday it signed a lease agreement with Falcon Hill developer Woodbury Corp. for 25,000 square feet of office space to house the former’s PMO group that will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent program.
Lockheed submitted its proposal for the Air Force’s GBSD competition Oct. 11 and named potential subcontractors such as General Dynamics, Draper Labs, Aerojet Rocketdyne, Orbital ATK, Moog and Bechtel.
The GBSD PMO will be built with a laboratory to facilitate collaboration between Lockheed’s program management team and Air Force officials.
Lockheed expects to occupy the facility beginning in August next year.
The company said its employees in Utah currently support Minuteman III sustainment programs and aircraft platforms such as F-35 Lightning II and F-22 Raptor.
Earlier this month, Lockheed joined the Rural Utah Aerospace Tour that highlighted local businesses and supplier opportunities.
